mmmmmmama
Pook is practicing mama- she is beginning to say mamamamama which is a first.
I'm beside myself.
At this point, she is just practicing the sounds but it feels so like the sun shines just for me when
i hear her practicing mmmammammmmamma
because there was, believe it or not, the thought I had that she would never call me mama.
I mean for a minute I was thinking, maybe she will just call me nicole
cuz the mmmmmammmaaa wasn't coming as fast as i expected.
but just like God's mercy
its here and I'm squeezing all the goodness out of it like
a florida orange.
chocolate is good, but this is sweeter!!
so mama has recovered from the twinge of indigo i was feelin last week and im back in full effect.
ive started running again. it only took me 11 months to BEGIN a regular workout routine but its working- the word
on this street is that this mama is lookkkin good:) And Pook enjoys the faster rides in her joggin stroller. Thanks to the grandparents she also has a mosquito net, cuz yes we run through the cornfields. I'm not joking. Pook is a rural toddler.
She knows her corn! Its really scenic except for the catepillars we have to dodge- they are everywhere.
Imani and I were talking about schools and preschools today and I have been debating (already) if I should get her in early to K- because her birthday is in sept. right on the border but I'm thinking she will be ready at the end of 5 instead of waiting till she's a true six. BUT i have been warned by my education scholar friends (Imani and Christina) that the research shows its better for them to be older so if she waits until she is a true six she's bound to be the smartest one in the class. I also learned that *some people actually prefer to have their kids be the oldest, tallest, strongest in the class. I don't know. I just want Pook to skip to college and go to school with me.
What else? Pook is really getting good at walking. I let her have her freedom in the house and she can walk from one end of the room to the other. No hands. It's exciting and she is totally into wallking- so over crawling.
Pooks birthday is in 13 days!!! I'm still debating on the kind of party I want to give. I know that's crazy since invitations are out but I can't decide on whether to have it really low-key or really off the chain. We'll see. And this is really a shameless plug but if someone doesn't know what to get her, please know we are counting on receiving a pair of robeez size 18 months (pink or blue).
I'm going to clean up the legos that are all over the living room floor, and prepare for an early morning run and trip to the farmers market tomorrow. This long holiday weekend, Pook and I are doing a little fall shopping and enjoying each other's company. I'm so blessed yall to have a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Can it get any better!
