Look Ma! No Hands
Hey Everyone!
It's sunday morning and Pook is napping. She is on the brink of walking ya'll!! I'm kinda excited and kinda sad. I predicted that she wouldn't crawl but go straight to walking and upon that pronouncement she began crawling. So that's been for awhile now. Her crawl is her own, on all fours with one leg slightly dragging, but it works.
Now she stands and let's go for a second before she falls on her bottom. But, she will do something like play pattycake and not even realize she's standing on her on. The first time she did this I was beside myself. I mean she is almost on her way to toddlerhood. She already does things like throw her bottle down when she's had enough, she let's me know if she feels differently than I, she tries to eat dirt, she's fast on her fours so by the time you've blinked she's already broke it, spilled it, tasted it, or decided she's keeping it and won't give it back.
I've also noticed that Pook seems to enjoy falling. It's really wierd but she has this pink rocking chair that she just learned how to climb into by herself. Well her favorite thing to do is to climb up into it and then intentionally fall out of it. She laughs and claps her hand and gets right back up! What can I say-she's a daredevil.
I am not really looking forward to her walking because I can see myself spending the next days of my life chasing her with the now infamous plea the Lee's profited from "please baby please" and you must say it like me, tired and kinda begging.
Besides "look ma! no hands" we are enjoying the perfect midwestern end of summer (cringe) days. It's been blue skies and calm winds- presenting lots of opportunity for us to relax on the patio in the park or talking walks. Also, the birthday countdown has officially begun- we will celebrate the entire month of september (pook share's her birthday month with her grandma Evelyn, Auntie Renee, cousininlawkinda Alex, play cousin Niya, cousin Jalen, and the same birthdate as her Karla- my niece which would make you to pook? well let's just say Auntie).

Motherhood looks fabulous on you. I can't wait to see Maya Sanaa. Isn't it amazing the type of growth one year can make emotionally, spiritually, and physically? There are still times in my life when I shout, "Look Ma! No Hands!" I guess it doesn't matter if you are a soon to be one year old or a thirty-one year old. The mother daughter connection is awesome. May Maya Sanaa and you share many more moments of co-dependancy and discovery.
