Pook's Evil Twin, Home, HOLIDAYS!
Hey we are back home. My trip went VERY well...
Pook (as reported by my parents) was excellent during her three day stay in the south suburbs. From what they say, Pook was the best behaved baby ever. My dad said that he thought she would have a fit right after I left. No way did that happen. Pook didn't shed one tear. She never whined. The grandparents were pleasantly surprised by how good Pook really is- I've only been trying to tell everyone that Pook really is the best thing since sliced bread but I guess you just have to spend a couple of days with her to really KNOW. It seems like my parents really enjoyed their time with Pook- my dady said it was his pleasure. This I didn't expect. I mean when I returned it was like they were thanking me for the opportunity to be at Pook's beck and call while I was away working. NOT that she demanded so much of their attention was the point though I guess. She went to bed on time, waited patiently for grandma to cook her breakfast (oatmeal) played with the canned goods, had lots of conversation with uncle jimmy, and other relatives (everyone is amazed about Pook's verbality), took her naps, and enjoyed being read to by Papa. She even ran a few errands to get some air. From what everyone said, Pook was a complete joy.
It was not as my dad scorned until I returned did Pook's evil twin showed up. As soon as I walked in the door, Pook was hollering, crying, whining, fussing, and more fussing about EVErY little thing. She bossed me up down and all around- so much so my mom declared- "she is going to give you a run for your money!" According to the experts- Pook bosses me and doesn't know her boundaries. She manipulates me because she knows that she can.
I beg to differ. I did try and give Pook the "evil eye" inspired by being around my parents (just to give the old skool parenting a try). It kind of worked. Still I want Pook to keep her fiesty, I'm bossy, talking back spirit just as long as its directed. NOT at me of course. Is this possible? I also expect that Pook will act different with me than around others- I was the same way - good at school, supposedly bad at home.
In the end I guess I was the one with really learned something this week. I'm a softy and somewhat of a pushover. Oh well, we are home and its the holidays!
