Everything is Everything

Its Saturday and Pook is napping. This is the weekend before Pook's birthday celebration so we are getting prepared. Pook is walking all over the house taking things out of their place. Her favorite room is the kitchen- she loves to take out the measuring cups and shake the various cans of cleaning liquid up and down. Yes, I always freak out when think about how many toxic things are in the house and amazed at how she always seems to find them no matter how hard I hide them.

Pook is still lovin' her books. She sits quietly and reads either out loud or to herself. She doesn't mind. Besides Dora, books are her favorite.

And Im getting a little weepy with thoughts of this past year. On Sept. 14th my life changed in big and small ways, and the wonder of all that has become my life, is very overwhelming. Only now does time seem to fly. I'm often bogged down in the particulars that I have to make sure there is time for fun, time to dance, and time to look into each other's eyes. I'm used to her going to to Ms.Lisa's for daycare now, and I try and take full advantage by making sure I get plenty of work done when Pook is away. At the same time, I think of how I'd like to marry super rich so I can stay home with Pook and play. But that is a dream. Pook is actually wildly independent and doesn't like to be messed with. She doesn't like to be babied, really. I think its a Virgo thing. In many ways that makes me very blessed, she goes to bed like clockwork, eats everything, and can easily entertain herself. Now that she can walk, she prefers to explore the house on her own, keeping me in her line of vision though always.

These days we are listening a lot to India.Arie (yes, Jasmine she is still playing in the van). We have also been jammin' lots of Common and the Bulletproof Diva cd sent to us by Beth. This evening we are going to check out some live music by Tiempo Libre.

Since we are sans cable, mostly we enjoy going for runs/wallks. I'm trying really hard ya'll to keep up a consistent run routine. Pook is an angel as she rides in her joggin' stroller.

Well, thats about it for now. We are doing well, and enjoying this month of September. We are also rejoicing the healthy birth and delivery of Mariama's baby boy, Abdulai Chernoh St. Paul!!!
